Jaipur

Welcome to Jaipur, a popular dining spot on 34 Esplanade in Porthcawl that blends authentic Indian flavors with a warm seaside atmosphere. With its prime location overlooking the coast, it’s the kind of restaurant where you can enjoy a flavorful curry while taking in views that make the experience even more memorable. The setting is stylish yet relaxed, perfect for both family dinners and evenings out with friends.

The menu covers a wide range of traditional Indian dishes, from rich chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan josh to lighter vegetarian options like saag paneer and chana masala. One of the highlights often mentioned in reviews is the freshness of the ingredients – sauces taste homemade, spices are balanced, and dishes arrive beautifully presented. On my visit, I tried their king prawn jalfrezi, and it had just the right kick of heat without overpowering the delicate flavor of the prawns. A side of garlic naan was fluffy, buttery, and the ideal companion for mopping up the sauce.

What makes Jaipur stand out isn’t just the food but the attentive service. Staff are welcoming, happy to suggest dishes depending on your taste for spice, and quick to accommodate dietary needs. The drinks list includes wines and beers that pair well with Indian cuisine, and prices remain reasonable considering the quality and location. Families appreciate the relaxed vibe, while couples often choose it for a laid-back but memorable evening by the sea.

Located right on the Esplanade, Jaipur is easy to reach whether you’re strolling along the seafront or coming into town for dinner. It captures the essence of coastal dining with the comfort of a classic Indian restaurant, making it one of Porthcawl’s standout locations for a satisfying meal.

Great food here, All is really nice and service is always good and friendly. No need to book unless your going when it may be busy like a Friday Saturday night (Although I only ever go when it's quiet)

I had a starter, main and an alcoholic drink. The food was delicious. Prompt service. I was a little disappointed when I asked for a bit more information on options on the menu and the member of staff couldn't help much. It wouldn't stop me going back!

Had a take away, very well priced, naan, rice, bhaji and meat in the curries faultless but sauces could have been nicer, slightly greasy and mold curry was spicy. Overall would recommend, great value for money

Came out for a lads catch up and to celebrate my 50th birthday. We were a group of five. I have to say the service was exemplary and we were very well looked after. For food I had poppadoms and dips for starters with an order of onion bhaji. The poppadoms were large, fresh, and crispy. While the dips were extremely flavourful. As for the onion bhaji, there were two per portion with a side salad. The onion bhaji were authentically made and not the powdery stodgy type. They were light, crispy, and refreshing. For mains I had Keema Rice, Chips, Chicken Shatkora, and a Keema Naan. Keema Rice and Naan are a go to when I have an Indian, and I have to say neither disappointed. The rice was light and refreshing as well as being full of flavour. The naan was fresh, full of keema meat, and a very decent size. The chips were as good as any you could expect from an Indian restaurant and were decently cooked. For a change I tried the Chicken Shatkora as when I usually have an Indian takeaway I go for a vindaloo or phall, sometimes a madras. I fancied something different for a change and was attracted by the citrus flavours and the fact that there was still a bit of spice. The curry was amazing!!! It was everything I expected and more. It was light and refreshing with a good citrus flavour and the spice was enough to know it was there but not overpowering. I would absolutely recommend this dish!!! I will most definitely be returning to this restaurant with my wife, and I will most definitely be having the Chicken Shatkora again.
